Cochin – Houseboat – Kumarakom – Periyar – Kovalam – Trivandrum (09 Nights & 10 Days)


DAY 01: Arrival Cochin

Arrival at Cochin international airport welcomed by Indian Voyages representative and transferred to your hotel. Needless to say, Cochin offers you some fascinating snippets of history and culture. Relax and unwind at the hotel. In the evening go for a relaxing sunset cruise. Overnight at the hotel.


DAY 02: Cochin

Morning breakfast at hotel and go on a sightseeing tour to explore the many fascinating highlights of Cochin which include – The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town, St. Francis Church which is the oldest European Church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace, the Spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders. In the evening enjoy the famous dance drama of Kerala, the Kathakali. This dance is characterised by some great story telling, amazing costumes and extensive make-up. Overnight at the Hotel.


DAY 03: Cochin – Houseboat (65kms/1.5hrs)

Morning after breakfast and drive to Alleppey and embark on your private houseboat and cruise on the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. Your houseboats or ‘Kettuvalloms’ are luxurious boats with well appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings it’s the life along the coast that makes this a fascinating experience. As you cruise along the backwaters you can ask your captain to stop at villages, paddy fields and other places, enroute. Overnight on board.


DAY 04: Houseboat – Kumarakom

Morning after breakfast disembark in Kumarakom, the enchanting backwater region of Kerala and check into your hotel. The labyrinthine network of rivers, canals, streams and lagoons which form the famed backwaters offer stunning views and is an ideal place to relax. Day at leisure.Overnight at resort.


DAY 05: Kumarakom

Morning breakfast at hotel and day of leisure at the resort. Also you can explore the resort amenities – adventure activities like canoeing, water scooter rides, boat rides etc are available during your day of leisure at the resort. Enjoy a rejuvenating general full-body Ayurveda massage. Overnight at the resort.


DAY 06: Kumarakom–Periyar (130kms/6.5hrs)

Morning after breakfast drive to Periyar an area known for its undulating hills, spice plantations, and elephant sightings. One of the 27 tiger reserves in India, the Periyar valley in Thekkady is the oldest. Check into your hotel. Go on a spice plantation tour today where you will be enticed by not only the aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and nutmeg but will also get to know how they are grown, harvested and processed before they reach the supermarkets. Rest of the day at leisure.Overnight at the resort.


DAY 07: Periyar

Morning breakfast at resort and the day you could go for an escorted jungle trek and also engage in activities like bamboo rafting. In the evening you could also go for a boat ride where you will have the opportunity to sight elephants and other animals along the bank. It is also possible to go for an Elephant ride today. Overnight at resort.


DAY 08: Periyar–Kovalam (280kms/1.5hrs)

Morning after breakfast drive to Kovalam, one of the most popular beach destinations in Kerala and check into your hotel. Kovalam consists of three adjacent crescent beaches separated by rocky headlands, of which the southernmost, Lighthouse Beach, is the most famous. The Azure waters and favourable climate make Kovalam a favourite year-round destination for beach lovers. Day at leisure on the beach.Overnight at the resort.


DAY 09: Kovalam

Spend your last day at leisure on the beach. Overnight at the Resort.


DAY 10: Kovalam – Trivandrum -Departure

Morning after breakfast departure transfer to Trivandrum for return flight.
